Opening Times and Admission Charges

The Museum opened to the General public on Friday November 13th 2015

Opening Times:

For 2017 March 26th – October 29th Opening times are :-

Monday – Closed (except Bank Holidays – when normal hours apply)
Tuesday – Members only (& pre booked Groups)
Wednesday – Closed unless a Group is booked in
Thursday – Members only (& pre booked Groups)
Friday – 10.00 to 17.00 (last admissions 16.30)
Saturday – 10.00 to 17.00 (last admissions 16.30)
Sunday – 10.00 to 17.00 (last admissions 16.30)

Group visits are normally scheduled on Tuesdays or Thursday. Other days are available by arrangement

Archives are only open on Tuesday & Thursday and that only by prior appointment. Please contact via the Contact Form and specify your area of interest.

In Winter the museum will close an hour earlier at 16:00. Summer is defined as when BST applies with Winter being when the UK is back on GMT.

Admission Charges:

Adult £8.00 p.p.
Children 5-16 yrs. (under-5’s free)
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
£4.00 p.p.
Concessions (over 60) £6.00 p.p.
Family ticket (2 adults +2 children) £22.00
Group Visits (minimum 10 persons)
(All group visits include a welcome talk and guided tour.)
£8.00 p.p.
Vulcan cockpit experience (This applies to all visitors Individual and Groups) £1.00 p.p.

When you pay your entry fee you will be given the option to Gift Aid the fee for an extra 10% of the cost (e.g. £8 becomes £8.80). See (1) below for Gift Aid rules.

Educational visits – per pupil/cadet/student   £4.00 (cockpit extra)
Minimum charge per class    £70
Led by a museum education officer.
Closely linked to the National Curriculum & pupil/guide ratio will never be more than 20:1.

Parking:

There are no Parking Charges at the Museum. Cars are parked at the owners risk. No dogs other than guide dogs are allowed.

Gift Aid

Gift Aid enables the Avro Heritage Museum to reclaim tax from the Inland Revenue without any cost to you. You must pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax equal to all your charitable donations in the tax year.(currently 25p for each £1 that you pay). You will be asked for your name, postcode and house number at the desk when you purchase your entry tickets).
If your circumstances change and you no longer pay tax on your income tax or capital gains tax equal to the tax that the charity claims, you must cancel this declaration.
If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim tax relief in your Self-Assessment tax return. Please notify the charity if you change your address,
You can cancel this declaration at any time by notifying the charity.
